We are seeking experienced sales professionals to sell logistics, transportation, and supply chain consulting and management services to a variety of industries.
PLG is always looking for talented individuals to join our team. We offer both employee and independent contractor positions, full time or part time work, competitive compensation, and a fun, collegial, and team-oriented approach.
Our subject matter expert consultants are generally arranged into two categories: Consultant and Senior Consultant. Consultant-level positions are generally filled by professionals with at least five years of experience. Senior Consultant positions are generally filled by professionals with 20+ years of experience and who have attained a senior-level rank in transportation and supply chain management with major shipper or transportation companies.
We recruit subject-matter expert consultants who match current or prospective modal, geographic, industry, or service needs, and we are also recruiting for several leadership and business development positions to support our strong growth trajectory. Required background
At least five years experience inclusive of:
- Successful consultative sales experience to senior level (VP and up) decision makers within Fortune 1000 companies
- Experience within any of the following industries:
- Consulting
- Transportation
- Supply Chain/Logistics
- Familiarity and experience with any of the following core PLG client industries:
- Plastics & Chemicals
- Renewable Fuels
- Minerals
- Wind Energy
- Industrial Products/Manufactured Goods
- Familiarity and experience with any of the following transportation modes:
- Rail
- Truck
- Marine
- Pipeline
Job description summary
This position requires candidates to perform telephone, e-mail, and in-person sales activities representing Professional Logistics Group, Inc. (PLG).
PLG provides transportation, logistics, and supply chain consulting and management services, including:
- Diagnostic logistics assessment
- Supply chain and distribution network optimization
- Inventory optimization
- Procurement consulting, including contract negotiations
- Site selection logistics due diligence
- Site logistics master planning
- Rail design and engineering
- Rail operations consulting
- Rail competitive access, including build-in/build-out
- Benchmarking
- 4PL solutions (design, implementation, and management of transportation and logistics operations)
- Railcar fleet leasing, acquisition, and maintenance management
- Transportation Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security programs and management
- Transportation, logistics, and supply chain technology consulting, product evaluation, and product implementation (i.e. TMS, WMS, inventory management, fleet control, etc.)
- Interim or outsourced strategic logistics management
It is realistic for our successful sales candidates to earn $200K+ per year. There is no cap on the commissions that candidates can earn.
